High Waist + Cropped Sweater

Isn’t it aggravating when you forget to read the instructions on a garment pertaining to how you wash and dry it and then it gets messed up? I’m normally very careful when it comes to caring for clothes, but this time I made a mistake.

You’re probably wondering what exactly did I mess up right? Well it turns out, I wasn’t supposed to dry this sweater. It needed to be air dried so when I put it in the dryer, it actually shrunk.

Your next question probably is, “was it not already a cropped sweater?” If so, the answer is no. This originally was a hi-lo sweater that stopped at my waist. Luckily enough, it didn’t shrink too much to the point where it wasn’t wearable.

Since I am quick on my toes, I’ve decided to keep this sweater and rename it as a “cropped sweater”. I now wear it with high waist skirts, shorts, and pants. I like to think of this incident as a blessing in disguise. And come to think of it, I think I like it better this way, it gives my outfits a “fun” look.

Do you have anything in your closet that you’ve accidentally messed up, but you have found a new purpose for it? Let me know in the comments!

You look so great – I love the color blue on you too! I have ruined a few things in my lifetime but now it is the sweet kids helping with the laundry! Ha ha —- I love your perspective about this and I think it is still a keeper!

This look and the colors looks great on you. If you hadn’t told us about the dryer incident I would have thought you purchased it this way. Of course I love your thigh high boots as you wear them so well, keep blessing us with your great sense of style and Happy Thanksgiving.
