Utility

utility-jacket-1

What do you call these types of jackets? Military? Cargo? Utility? Anorak? The jackets are similar with a couple of minor details, but the Fashion World will use all names interchangeably. I’m beginning to think most of them don’t know what jackets are what because if you look up the true definition of each words, they completely go against what jacket style the name represents. But who actually follows the rules when it comes to fashion anyway right? However, if you don’t want to sound clueless, you can’t go wrong with keeping it general and referring to these types of jackets as military or utility.

I’m actually wearing a utility jacket which is also referred to as a hooded utility jacket, utility anorak jacket, or even simply an anorak jacket. Regardless of what you want to call it, it’s cute! Having a stylish and trendy jacket in the Fall weather is a MUST HAVE. Your jackets are a key piece to your outfit!! I mean come on, what else will you wear it to keep warm when the cool breeze hits you?

I’m not saying you have to go out and spend tons of money on a variety of jackets, but instead you should invest in two or three that will be acceptable for Fall through Spring weather. Keep in mind to purchase jackets that will match a good deal of your wardrobe. You can’t go wrong with the colors black, brown/camel, or olive.

While jacket shopping, the most important thing is to S A V E money. I completely understand if you’ve been saving up for your first designer jacket, BUT remember not all your items have to be $400+. Would you believe me when I tell you this New Look jacket was purchased from TJ Maxx for only $15?

It’s time to be effective and cautious shoppers so you can look good WITH money in your pockets. Don’t be afraid to check the sale racks first and take a look at TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, Nordstrom Rack, thrift stores, and other stores that will carry a little less expensive pieces for half the cost!

I love that look, it looks casual but pulled together. I have the same jacket and I also reminds me of safari jackets. Keep up the good work.
